Puff Pastry Rolls with European Beef and Apple

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 g European minced beef
  • 1 large European apple (sweet and crunchy)
  • 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
  • A pinch of salt
  • A bit of olive oil
  • A few thin strips of yellow cheese (optional)

PREPARING

  1. In a pan with a bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt, briefly sauté the minced meat just until it is browned and soft, then set it aside to cool.
  2. Cut the apple (with the skin on) into thin sticks resembling the shape of French fries.
  3. Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it into smaller strips.
  4. On each strip of pastry, place a portion of the sautéed meat, an apple stick, and optionally a strip of cheese.
  5. Roll up the strips with the filling into small rolls, resembling mini hot dogs.
  6. Place the prepared rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Put them in an oven preheated to 200°C and bake for about 15–18 minutes until the pastry becomes clearly golden brown.
