Colorful Onigiri with Minced Pork and Vegetables

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 g minced pork
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Pickled yellow radish
  • Pickled pink ginger
  • Nori sheets (seaweed) for wrapping
  • Sesame seeds for sprinkling
  • A few lettuce leaves for decoration

PREPARING

  1. Heat sesame oil in a pan, add the minced pork, and fry until browned. Add soy sauce, mix, and set aside to cool.
  2. Slice the vegetables into thin strips.
  3. Take a handful of cooked rice and flatten it in your hand.
  4. Place a spoonful of fried pork and vegetables in the center, then wrap the rice around them to form a ball. Repeat until all the rice is used.
  5. Wrap the balls with nori strips and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Arrange the onigiri in a lunchbox, decorating with lettuce and your favorite vegetables to add color.
